A Popcorn Sale is something our community looks forward to every year. There are many people that just can't wait to see us every year.

The QSA 172 popcorn process goes like this:

- An email or note will go out stating when the popcorn meeting will be. It is expected that both parents and youth will attend this meeting.
- At the meeting you will see a video or presentation that will show some information about popcorn sales. ie: how to sell, what to expect, prizes and options.
- At the meeting you will receive a form that the buyer will fill out that states what type of popcorn they want and how much they owe for the order.
- At the meeting you will receive your local area map that you and your youth will personally cover.
- At the meeting you will get three dates:
- The date when the popcorn orders are to be returned to the Fundraising Co-ordinator to be placed.
- The date when the sort night take place. Sort night is when everyone's popcorn comes in all at once. We unload the truck and sort the popcorn according to
each order turned in. If you help sort you can pick up your popcorn that evening. The remainder of the orders will be available for pick-up the following day
after the bottle drive.
- The date when the money collected from the sales of the popcorn drive is due to be turned in to the Fundraising Coordinator.
- Go door to door and ask the homes on your map if they would like to buy any popcorn. A sample pitch that we use is "Hello, I'm from the Queensland 172 Cub Pack.
We are wondering if you would like to order any popcorn." It is preferable to collect the money for their order at that point via cash or cheque but they may pay when
you distribute the popcorn after sort night. ***NOTE*** Phone numbers are very important if collecting upon delivery. That way you have the opportunity to call them
so they can have the funds available when you arrive.
- After the maps are done and forms are filled out you may go back to the Fundraising Coordinator for more maps.
- After your maps and forms are complete you MUST turn the completed forms into the Fundraising Coordinator by the required date or your order may not get placed.
- Wait until the Fundraising Coordinator Informs us as to what the Sort Night date will be.
- Show up for sort night and help sort the popcorn into the family's orders.
- Make any phone calls that need to be made before you distribute the popcorn. Again... It is preferable to collect the money for their order at that point via cash or
cheque but they may pay when you distribute the popcorn after sort night. ***NOTE*** Phone numbers are very important if collecting upon delivery. That way you
